What's wrong with tap water?

Ground water contamination has created a need for purified water. Pollution in tap water has affected about 100 million people worldwide. In April 2014, Flint, Michigan reported high levels of lead that had leached from pipes into the water supply.  City officials issue boil-water advisory after coliform bacteria is also detected in tap water. In June 2016, Fountain, Colorado reports of well water testing revealed the aquifer beneath this community showed traces of perfluorinated chemicals or PFC’s at up to 20 times the levels viewed as safe.  These are just a couple of recent stories in the news and no State is immune. These chemicals are not the only ones that cause harm, high levels of chlorine in water (which many municipalities use to kill microbes) is also used. It is a poison that many of us are unaware that we are consuming it in our tap water.

Many believe that the water we get from beverages such as teas, coffees, sodas etc….is sufficient for the body to function; but that is not correct. The water from these beverages is poor quality distilled water. Most people just go out and buy bottled water. Consumption of bottle water has significantly increased about 9.5% every year since 1976. It is estimated that by 2016 bottle water will be the #1 packaged beverage sold in the U.S.
