Protocols Regarding Coronavirus
In Response to COVID-19
Dear Customers,
We take pride in our commitment to cleanliness as one of our core operational values. It is our top priority to keep our customers and employees safe and healthy. As coronavirus continues to be active in the United States, we want to assure you that we are following the CDC recommendations as well as upgrading our safety protocols while we remain open.
What we are doing:
• Thorough wipe down and disinfecting of entire store every morning before we open and after we close for the day.
• Increased cleaning intervals and disinfecting water refill stations, sinks and door knobs every hour.
• If employees or customers are feeling ill, we ask that they stay home and take care of themselves in order to keep our community healthy and safe.
Addendum as of 3/20/2020: Temporary Social Distancing Policy
No more than 4 customers at a time in the store.
Customers must rinse/refill their own containers. During this time, we will not assist in rinsing/refilling and/or caring out containers to your vehicle unless you absolutely need assistance.
We can not allow refill of individual drinking bottles that are less than 1 gallon.
Effective Monday 4/20/2020 until further notice:
We require all customers who enter the store to be wearing a face mask or face shield per the City of San Antonio mandate.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation and understanding!
Sincerely,
Texan Alkaline Water Management
Small change in pH can have a profound effect on body function.
The first step towards great health begins with helping the body become more alkaline. The acid-alkaline balance is important, since many functions in the body occur only at a certain level of acidity or alkalinity. Many enzymes and chemical reactions in the body work best at a particular pH.
A small change in the pH can have a profound effect on body function. A lowered muscle pH for example, leads to a decrease in muscle permeability, which blocks nutrients from entering cells. Nutritional absorption from food or supplement sources becomes compromised. When your body is more acidic than alkaline, it is more fertile for diseases to develop.
An acid/alkaline imbalance of too much acidity may allow parasites, yeasts, cancer cells and other toxins to proliferate in our bodies. Becoming alkaline is very important and one of the easiest things to incorporate into your daily routine to ensure good health!
FACT: We cannot survive without water! What you drink makes a difference!
We opened our Alkaline Water store because we believe and understand the importance of achieving better health. My husband and I are both health conscious individuals and strive to give everyone who comes to us the best advice about being healthier, visit our website. When you are healthy you feel better. It is not something you notice overnight. It takes time to feel the positive changes within your body, it is all physiological down to the very cells that make us up and our cells are the living organisms that need the best of what we put into our bodies and that includes water, although it takes a little time you soon will see the difference on the outside as well.
We cannot survive with out water, that is a FACT. Many don't know how dehydrated they are until they start to drink more water and eventually find that their bodies are craving water more than sodas, teas, energy drinks etc... water in most cases may just be water to the naked eye but it is what you don't see that makes all the difference! You can't necessarily see trace minerals or anti-oxidants but you can certainly taste and see the cleanliness of our water. We make sure it is clean and we put back the minerals that are necessary for function as well as the anti-oxidants that keep free radicals from destroying our cells. Changes do not happen overnight but keeping consistent to what you eat and drink to make you feel your best is what is important. Only YOU can take charge of your health and well-being! You are responsible for YOU!
So Why Alkaline Water?
We have come to believe that commercial filtering machines and bottled water companies produce “good” water. However, it has been scientifically proven that the balance of our health is directly related to the pH levels of the water and blood circulating inside of us. To compare, if the ocean water became too acidic most sea life will die, the ocean must maintain certain pH levels for life to exist. The air we breathe can become too acidic, if it does we die. Each of these has their own ways to maintain good pH levels. It is the same with our bodies it needs to maintain a certain pH level to thrive and fend off disease, we may not see it of course, but our body works to try to maintain a pH level of 7.3-7.4. However, many of us don’t eat like we should, we eat too much processed foods; we drink too much coffee, tea, sodas etc…; even medications can cause acidity. Our body is a machine and if it’s overworked it will break down and it will be less efficient to maintain its normal pH levels, therefore when it does break down slowly it will eventually not work. Alkaline water is RO water but the difference is we add back the good minerals and naturally increase the pH to 9.5 (pure water in nature that has not been contaminated will naturally have a high pH) so you are getting the best quality water that has added health benefits. Plainly stated, it helps your body help itself!
Ok so I’ll just drink Reverse Osmosis water. Nope, think again!
The amount of water that we drink is not just what keeps us healthy, it’s the ‘quality’ of the water we drink.
RO (reverse osmosis) process can only remove particles of larger dimensions than water molecules. However, the problem is that it not only removes contaminants but also filters out the essential minerals that are present in the water. Although this process works well , in this case it removes the good with the bad and what remains is what is called “dead water.”
Can you tell if your dehydrated?
About 75% Americans are chronically dehydrated. For optimum hydration you need to be drinking the number of fluid ounces equal to half your body weight and not just the recommended “8 glasses per day.” If you weigh 140lbs, you need to drink 70 oz per day. Other beverages such as coffee, tea and soft drinks have caffeine and rather than hydrating you they dehydrate you due to the large amounts of caffeine. Regular bottled water and tap water consumed today is acidic and will not efficiently absorb into the body, adding to the dehydration dilemma. Should you worry about being dehydrated? Absolutely! Dehydration can also slow down your metabolism which can lead to weight retention. Drinking the good kind of water that has added benefits to keep you better hydrated and provide the good minerals our body needs to function is essential to keeping even your metabolism at its best.
What's wrong with tap water?
Ground water contamination has created a need for purified water. Pollution in tap water has affected about 100 million people worldwide. In April 2014, Flint, Michigan reported high levels of lead that had leached from pipes into the water supply. City officials issue boil-water advisory after coliform bacteria is also detected in tap water. In June 2016, Fountain, Colorado reports of well water testing revealed the aquifer beneath this community showed traces of perfluorinated chemicals or PFC’s at up to 20 times the levels viewed as safe. These are just a couple of recent stories in the news and no State is immune. These chemicals are not the only ones that cause harm, high levels of chlorine in water (which many municipalities use to kill microbes) is also used. It is a poison that many of us are unaware that we are consuming it in our tap water.
Many believe that the water we get from beverages such as teas, coffees, sodas etc….is sufficient for the body to function; but that is not correct. The water from these beverages is poor quality distilled water. Most people just go out and buy bottled water. Consumption of bottle water has significantly increased about 9.5% every year since 1976. It is estimated that by 2016 bottle water will be the #1 packaged beverage sold in the U.S.
What is ORP?
As always we encourage everyone to be an informed consumer and we are passionate to educate all who walk through our door about our natural alkaline water and its many health benefits. So maybe you are wondering what is ORP? ORP stands for Oxidization Reduction Potential. We do not see it, but there is a continuous exchange of electrons that takes place between substances in the air, in the earth, in water, and in our bodies. This is known as ion exchange. A positive (+) ORP ...reading indicates that a substance is an oxidizing agent. The higher the reading, the more oxidizing it is. A negative (-) ORP reading indicates that a substance is a reducing agent. The lower the reading, the more anti-oxidizing it is. Alkaline water is an anti-oxidizing agent, as it has a negative ORP value and it is able to donate extra electrons to neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals on the body.
